Free Caribou Anyone?

Supposedly Caribou Coffee is giving away a free 12 oz cup of decaf this afternoon(Jan 30th) from noon until close because Starbucks isn't going to be serving their ready made decaf anymore... Here's more info:

Decaf drinkers deserve better!
You may have heard that Starbucks(r) is eliminating decaf coffee at-the-ready in the afternoons. We think that customers deserve the very best coffee, when, where and how they want it. We invite all decaf coffee drinkers to experience Caribou Coffee’s exceptional Natural Decaf(tm) coffee on the house. To learn more about our all-natural decaffeination process, visit http://www.cariboucoffee.com/page/1/all-natural-decaf.jsp

Valetine's Day Cards

Here are three cards I made for the sale last weekend. As you can see I love this polka dot paper! I think it is by American crafts. The "all my love" stamp is part of an old Stampin Up set.

Birthday Cards

Here are four different birthday cards that I made for my craft sale tomorrow. If they don't sell then I am all set for a while! I used a clear cake/cupcake stamp by Inkadinkado and the birthday sentiments are by Scrappy Cat.
I was groovin' on the layout so I went a little crazy. Sometimes you can get a lot more done by just repeating the same steps! Thanks for looking.

Tree Sympathy

Here is another Sympathy card I made for my craft sale tomorrow. It is at a church so I was going to make a bunch of sympathy cards to sell. We'll see how many I can actually get done! It's been kind of a busy week and my creative juices aren't flowing so freely...
I like this tree stamp and the paper. It seems sympathy cards are always so flowery. I wanted to try another card for anyone.

Java Jacket

My sister-in-law is a crazy quilter lately & we have seen pictures of these & had to make one for ourselves! We used some scrap fabric that she had laying around and just made up our own pattern, so the first one is a little rough but I love it!
Now I can save the planet a little bit more everytime I go to Starbucks....

Another Sympathy Card

Here is another sympathy card I had to make last week for my aunt. I used my new "Close as a Memory" stamp set from Stampin Up and a tree by Inkadinkado. I used faux stitching around the edges for added interest. The paper is misc stuff from my stash. I tried not to make it too girly.

Fun Blog Candy

I met this really crafty lady at a craft sale last fall, Naphtali over at Second Street Designs. She makes awesome hand bags/sewn items and she is giving away one of her sweet bags to celebrate her blog anniversary!

All that you have to do is follow this link: http://www.secondstreetdesigns.com/, check out her awesome stuff and then give the real names of some super hero's in her comments. If you have a small child(or a husband Lol) then you will already know the answers!
Ps. I will have more cards to post later today. We are heading to Chuck e Cheese's for some gamin fun!

Another Valentine's Day Card. I Tried some more new paper that's kinda groovy. Most of the rest of the paper is misc. The stamp was from the $ section at Michael's. Ribbon is by American Crafts. Thanks for looking!

Valentine's Day Card

Here is a quick card for Valentine's Day. I don't usually make too many cards for Valentine's Day, but I am pretty sure I am doing a craft sale next weekend & thought it might be good to have a couple for sale! I used some non-traditional colors and a new bird stamp I got in the $ section at Joann's.
The awesome leaf paper is by American Crafts, I am totally drawn to their paper all of the time. The brown & the blue papers are by Stampin Up. I stamped the bird part on the reddish paper and then cut it out and glued it on top of the stamped image to tie in the red some more.

Sympathy Card

I (unfortunately) had to make a Sympathy card this week and I just found out that I have to make a few more :( I tried to make it sorta manly because it's going to a man! They all seem to be so "flowery" and I tried to keep it simple and masculine.

I used some new Basic Gray paper that I had recently acquired. The stamp set is from Stampin Up called "Close as a Memory" and I used Black Versafine ink for the sentiment. The blue paper is Baja Breeze by SU.
The yellow circle reminded me of a sun, maybe even a rising sun ... because there is hope even after you lose someone close to you...
Thanks For Looking

Awesome Paper Store

Hey-

I just (re)found my favorite paper store for invites! I may be making aprox 150 wedding invitations this spring. I was looking online for inspiration but then I decided to head to the place I bought the paper for my wedding 8 years ago. Loved it then, why wouldn't I love now? LOL! Well I checked their website to make sure they were even in business anymore with all of the chain shops around, of course they were :) Here is a link: http://www.paperdepotinc.com/Paperdepot/website/home.htm.

Their website isn't the greatest but the store is & the Helpers are super de duper. I had all kinds of questions on Die-cutting so I didn't have to hand cut & score all of the cards myself. The lady/girl/woman answered everyone of them & didn't act annoyed at all! They have added to their die-cut collection and have some new & really cool ones. They also have a ton of DIY invitations that other people have made for you to browse thru...

If you live in the Minneapolis metro area this is the store for you & your paper needs!

Birthday Card for my Brother-in-Law

I made this card quickly today with my daughter. My brother-in-law's birthday is on Sunday and we wanted to send him something. It's always hard to come up with masculine birthday cards. I wanted a simple but nice looking card.

He loves to camp so we used this old skool looking tent stamp that I bought on eBay. I distressed the edges of the burgundy & blue pieces with brown ink to age it a little. I found a piece of this ribbon and thought it reminded me of a belt or something. But it worked so I went with it. The base card is a khaki green color and the scalloped circle is actually chocolate brown. I popped up the scallop for some added dimension TFL!

Golden Birthday Card

We are going to a birthday party this weekend and needed a super cute card. It's for my cousin's daughter who will be seven - it's her golden birthday! We go trick-r-treating with them most years and the last 2 years she was a butterfly. I saw this paper by Basic Grey and loved it! The base card stock is misc but the rest is Basic Gray. The Wishes stamp is Stampin Up. I cut out one of the butterfly's to pop up on the front and added diamond dust glitter to the wings.

Christmas Card 2008

I finally found an extra copy of our Christmas Card from this Christmas that I could post. I tried to do it matchbook style for something different. I used Kraft paper for the base of it, Stampin up Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip, misc for the red and white. I used the house stamp from the "To You & Yours" set by SU and the "Very Merry Christmas to You" was a hostess set by SU. This was the best picture of us this year and the photo I took of it isn't very good but you get the idea. We live in Minnesota, so this year I was feeling warm & cozy when I thought of Christmas. I colored a little bit with colored pencils to try to bring the scene "alive". I should have added some glitter to the snow but I was making 80 of them while driving to my in-laws and didn't think that would work so well! Thanks for looking.

Update

I updated my blog to the Minima template so I could use the awesome free backgrounds from The Cutest Blog on the Block website. Here is the link www.thecutestblogontheblock.com But now I have lost a few things including my guest counter. bo ho hoo. Not quite sure how to get them back, will have to check with my DH, he's a miracle worker when it comes to technology. Hopefully you will enjoy the changes as they get finalized in the coming days.

I hope to post more cards again soon, we have a couple of birthdays coming up this month that we will need a card for :)

Santa

Here is the picture of my daughter when we went to go see Santa at the mall. They let you use your own camera if you want too. It worked out OK I guess, I'm not sure why they had that doll in the photo though.
